It’s that time of year...
Every year, I look forward to this time of year with a great deal of anticipation. Months of planning, numerous hours spent digging deeply into research, and dozens or even hundreds of phone calls gathering information for the most important time of the year…
“The season“ is upon us, and if you haven’t planned effectively, you had better get to it right away.
It’s “buying“ season!
Sure, sure, “hunting“ season is right around the corner. The federal dove seasons open September 1 and many places begin their nuisance goose and some archery deer seasons as early as this week.
That means that every sportsman and woman is looking through all of their Gear and replacing and adding to it.
Ever since I was a little boy, I Have enjoyed the preparation and the research, pouring over paper catalog that we received in the mail from companies like Gander Mountain and Cabela’s… Always looking first to the “new arrivals“ pages to see what shiny new objects and effective tools we would be able to purchase that year to help us in our quest for game and fish.
Brown cardboard boxes delivered to the door over these next two months usually only meant one thing – NEW HUNTING GEAR!
It was no coincidence that one of my dearest friends, Joe, christened me the, “professor of gadgetology,” in my 20s in reference to the plethora of gear I had accumulated even to that point in my lifetime. If he only knew what I have now, it would likely amaze him.
Thousands of other sportsmen and women are also busy searching, shopping, and BUYING all the things they will need for all the seasons this year.
The good news is that the folks over at www.thebestshootingsite.com are here and ready to help.
Looking for a new scope for your rifle?
They can help.
If you are looking for a good pair of hunting boots, now is the time to buy. If you wear them every day, you will have them at least mostly broken in before the serious season.
(And by the way – if you know any non-traditional, quality footwear or manufacturers that would like to partner with some rogue vagabonds in the industry in selling a lot of their stuff, send them over our way.)
Perhaps you are looking for a new hunting or travel pack.
The folks at DDT Tactical have some great products for both. I am especially fond of their lines of “non-tactical“, tactical packs- but their hunting packs need to be checked out as well.
Maybe this is the year that you replace your old hunting knife and are looking for something like a drop point or skinning blade. The folks at Buck and Bear can have you covered there as well.
Early hunting seasons tend to be rather warm regardless of where you are in the country. If you need some good, lightweight clothing, take a look at the light weight series from Blocker Outdoors.
Warm weather also means you’ll likely want a cool drink and a way to cool down any game you harvest.
Make sure you click HERE to check out the quality coolers that Bison Coolers has to offer.
Maybe, you already have everything you need for this year and are well ahead of the curve. Perhaps you have enough gear for the next two or three seasons and may never do business with the best shooting site this year or for many years after… We still LOVE to hear from you and welcome you to our community. Let us know what kinds of things you like, things you want, and new and interesting things you found.
Until then, happy hunting!
